What do you do when you're bored?

I am just in general very bored. I feel like I always need to be doing something. How do you guys just turn off and completely rest? I have hobbies. However, outside of things like sports and video games, I run into a wall of things to do that isn't work related. Also, not really a fan of watching TV shows

I don't mean any disrespect by saying this at all, but if you're bored that much then you're a boring person. The internet offers so much opportunity that you can learn anything you want to learn or find out how to experience almost anything you can think of from coding, to reading, to skydiving, to learning a new language, to finding the closest gym, to cooking, to volunteering, etc. You can learn and do any crazy thing you can think of.

You say sports and video games, that's pretty basic stuff. Do you mean you go to the gym and play pick up basketball or do you just watch games on TV? Playing video games is basically a waste of time and something people do when they're bored unless they're pros. So are you just saying you watch games and play video games? You see how that sounds? That really isn't much. You need to become more curious about life and the world, and you will become intellectually stimulated. You'll probably enjoy something that you haven't been exposed to. Look for something random to try.

I get that, I used to be a gamer, and I even ran a guild/clan in a couple of games. We played together for many years, I still talk to my friends from all over the world, and I even hooked up with a girl I met through a game once. One of my favorite games is PUBG, I can play that for days. However, with all that said, there are more productive ways to spend your time. I could have learned more skills with all the years I spent gaming.

I go to the gym for pickup basketball and watch games at night (pretty much watch every sport). I'll go to the bar casually with friends and have a couple of beers. I didn't mean to make my life so gloomy in the post, but I just find it sometimes hard to figure out things to do when I finish the things I'm already interested in and I have like a 4-5 hour gap between the next activity. I'm usually busy year-round, but I guess I'm just feeling it a little more right now because people are away on vacation, going back to school, etc. Thanks for the advice though! I don't think I'm boring per se, however, I'll definitely look to expand my interests besides just playing sports, watching sports, finance, and hanging out with friends.

Meditate. Could be for 2 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, however long you want. Longest I've meditated in one sitting was three hours. To me, it's like a game. When I sit (eyes could be opened or closed), I take note of the in breath and the out breath. If my mind wanders off, the goal is to get the mind back on the breath. Simple, but not easy. If I find myself in a public place waiting for something and have nothing else better to do, I just focus on the in and out breath. You basically want your mind to only be focusing on those two things, the in and the out breath. Sounds silly, but it's fun once you get used to it. Hope this was helpful.
