What do you think it will be the most impressive field coming out of undergrad in 5 years?

My top three guesses right now (in no particular order) would be quant finance, investment banking, or something in the ESG space but I wanted to get some opinions.

I feel like Quant Finance will always be the most impressive field right? Most likely need some sort of difficult major and then some innate mathematical talent/extensive practice. Don't hurt me but I feel like with the right school, the right connections, and decent prep anyone can get into IB (if not they still have lateral opportunities). Quant Finance is difficult if you don't get in out of under-grad and not many people can lateral into Quant Finance because they typically all like hiring out of undergrad to train you themselves; your only path typically is go back to get a MS in a quantitative subject then you STILL have to have the math talent/practice to get past the interviews. If you're talking best of the best for both, I.e. Optiver/Jane vs Goldman/JPM/EB etc.

These things have barely changed in 15-20 years, another 5 will barely move the needle.

Agree with the other person that Quant is always very impressive because there's so many prereqs. IB, maybe consulting too, are the default "prestige" jobs for someone who's not a quant.

I'm sure ESG will be a big thing in 5 years but that'll just be the prestige of working at the next MSFT, Google, Tesla etc rather than creating an entirely new position.
