What egs of Racism have you endured at work

and what can I as a colleague & member of society do to be part of the solution? It would be helpful if you could detail a specific incident regardless of how big or small with what actually happened but what you feel should now happen in the future.
I understand that I will never really understand but I am here to listen and be part of the change.

Our entire VC unit, the startups we support and the ecosystem we work in has zero black people. there are also no female founders (only 1 startup had 1 female co-founder I met in all the years and she left). Also, very few brown people in startups, it is almost like they are left out or not considered in these companies? When you listen to startups how co-founders met, you'll realize how African Americans, Indians and others are left out. This is not normal though, but we are also not in the bay area where the situation would certainly be different.

There are more gay people than you'd think in Finance. A lot of this comes from being able to think "outside the box" but almost everyone except the occasional trans person is in the closet at work. It just makes life easier.

As to actual racism, the most enduring examples were when the startup I worked for got sold to a big player, and my boss had to work with a bitchy Indian lady on new product ideas. She deserved complaints, but this old Irish guy made them as racist as possible behind the scenes. There was inaccurate mocking of her voice and everything. Neither of them work here any more though.
