I spent $40,000 on my car?
2017 Focus RS impulse bought while taking my parents car into the dealer for maintenance - $40,000 two hours later. Totally worth it.
Probably still worth $40K today.
I have a 2016 ST3 with a bunch of upgrades from the previous owner. So much fun, only missing the AWD!
As an intern, $2.5k on a luxury bag I really wanted
What brand
Bottega Veneta! Wanted to treat myself after spending all those hours aligning logos on PPT
A 1700-ish flight, intercontinental (I yearn for tropic sands and cool drinks all year)

$55k on a solar roof does that count?

Just spent $2500 on a contractor. Oh the joys of homeownership.
Never happened.
Blew six figures at borgata one night.
Bought a mid 5 figures ring once.
But the most in one day was the down payment and closing costs on my apartment lol, was sickening to write that check.
Wowwww - How????
I was very addicted to high stakes poker to the point I was deluded enough to think I could go pro.
one nigjt my usual 3/6 mix game wasn’t running but they had this huge PLO game. I bought in for 25 several times and basically got owned.
I eventually learned it doesn’t matter how book smart you are and just knowing the math isn’t everything, the pros just have an ability to sense when to bluff and stuff.
He has said on another thread that his wife makes a lot of money as well. He isn't a single earner.
Started my career right after the GFC and basically any investment you made during the last ten years went up. Also, my wife makes just as much as we do in finance.
@Isaiah_53_5 💎🙌💎🙌💎" waiting for your response.
haha I’ve had some expensive times, but not one day that was really high compared to the others on this thread.
- $800 on date night at Jean Georges NYC
- $6000 to move into a NYC pad
- Sold my car for $21K at Car Max and spent it all in a couple of months in NYC going out every night to bars and clubs
hey that's surprisingly tame lol
$80k on down payment and closing costs on my condo
$120k on a watch but flipped it a few months later for like $140k
Looking to get more into watches - do you have any advice on how to go about it? Would also appreciate some recommendations for lower priced watches, thanks.
Yeah, my favorite place to find value and support other fantastic entrepreneurs are the new wave of independent watchmakers that take off the shelf movement and then transform them dramatically plus offer custom work.
Some of my favorite are Dornbluth and Sons, Felipe Pikullik, Benzinger and Habring. They are all VERY well priced and you receive amazing service! I can vouche for the last three. I will 100% be buying from them again. They are true artists delivering amazing value at a competitive price point. All of those should be well under ~$10k. I believe a used Dornbluth is like.. ~$3000 - $4000 but with a ton of amazing hand work.
I know it's ironic on this forum, but I do thing it's important to support great artists instead of faceless corporations that do not contribute much to watchmaking.
This is the same reason I buy from local furniture makers. It's surprisingly affordable, you support craftsmen/entrepreneurs, quality is awesome for the $, and you can get custom pieces made for reasonable prices.
Brand/model?

What do watch collectors like you think of lange? Is it considered in the same league as patek?
16k on a rolex. Not as much at the 120k douchebag - very impressive stuff
lmao in his defence the 120k douchebag is one of the best guys on this forum
“Depp had $2 million in monthly bills, including $100,000 a month for addiction issues. Depp had huge daily spending habits to live a lavish lifestyle, which led to him spending $2 million a month on bills, according to his former management firm. At one time, the actor had to pay: 300,000 a month for a 40-person staff.”
