what % of the SA class were nepotism?
curious to hear from those who recently finished recruiting or did so a couple years back, what percent of the total number of students who were actively recruiting were nepo
or even if you’re full time, what % of analyst class was nepo
i attend a strong semi-target or even target at various banks and of the 100 students actively recruiting (those who prep and call, not just submit apps), and of 60 in the recruitment club, over half came in with nepo, who all have offers from top EB/BB/PE now
whether, their dad/brother works at a firm, extremely rich international student, dads a 30YR MD, head of global ib, dad owns his own finance related firm, even saw people whose parents were an LP
what’s you guys experience
Direct nepo? 1 per class. Super connected and probably had everything 100x easier than someone with no industry connection? Almost everyone. About the same quantum of total nepo as there is of zero help (bell curve)
Nobody was the stereotypical nepotism hire (I.e. kid who is terrible but got given the job) but from what I heard quite a few people had solid referrals/connections that helped.
