I am taking the long road. Yes. I am doing it! Need 100 characters. Need ideas folks. Anyone have experiences or know of positions with more exposure and low barriers to entry?

"BloodPressure" Like Northwestern Mutual, Aflac, NewYorkLife, Fidelity, where I can earn a series 7 and 63?

Northwestern, NY Life, etc. Almost all of the second tier wealth management firms will sponsor you for a 6 or 7 and a 63. A lot of the super sketchy firms will as well, if they will let you take it in the first place. The issue is the further down the food chain you go the more likely you are going to be commission only with tough goals, and management that is perfectly happy if you sell your family and friends expensive proprietary products, burn out and leave them there. Some even work like multi-level-marketing organizations, and actually pay employees better to find the flame-outs than to sell for themselves.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
