What Supercar Would you Buy? (Rich Only)
This question is geared to the rich (MDs, Partners, Executives, PE Principals, ). What supercars would you buy to show off all your hard years of grind and work? Would you buy a $700,000 ferrari 812 superfast and speed down wall st? Or would you go the old money route and buy a blacked-out rolls royce phantom or bentley flying spur and go the conservative route? Tell us monkeys here how right now if you were to buy a nice supercar for working hard during covid, what would it be?
I think the only cars that make sense to buy in the $$$ range are collectibles like certain Porsche models that you won't lose money on.
I don't belong, here do I?
No you, don't.
whatever my MD gets i am literally going to get on top of it squat dowen and lay a fat fucking deuce on it also if possible i will piss on the inside because shitting on the car is too easy to clean off
This has Andy Bernard written all over it
*Andy Bernard. pls fix thx.
.
mazda miata
One of the most entertaining vehicles to drive. I drive a first generation red 1990 in the summers.
bro the mazda is 26000 broke ass peon ass driving that shiet!
get the fook out of here with that shiet!
Miata > Lambo. The day a man tells me he doesn’t like Miata’s is the day I lose respect for said man.
porsche 356
Fancy cars are for financially irresponsible little dicked dudes with inferiority complexes
Or people who just like cars.
Flashiness is a function of insecurity. Also, no MD at a BB (aside from heavy hitters) can afford a $700K car unless they're incredibly financially irresponsible or are not married. $1M of deferred comp at CS isn't on par with a Partner at PE firm haha
For some people it it is what you say. Bunch of idiots who go broke trying to look rich. For others though, they just happen to really like cars. It's like any other hobby really, but just more expensive.
Yes, I happen to love exotic sports cars and I have nothing to prove.
Here we go, you had to spoil it. Please stop stereotyping. Not everyone falls into your classified group. Plus, it's boring.
Saving for the new continental GT right now. Want one in matte black. Thought about getting a CPO but I'd have to aftermarket wrap it myself and I have no exp with that.
Among my friends and colleagues, the richer they got the less they wanted the flashy cars. Agree though that if it is a fun hobby for you and you are rich, who cares what anyone else thinks? But it's almost always a depreciating asset with pretty high carrying costs...
bro you work at a hf, show your wealth, buy a gallardo at least.
Not your target for the post - but I’d love to get a Ford GT or Carrera GT, both set to only appreciate and amazing cars.
graham stephan made a video about the appreciating ford GT. You should check it out!
I’ll have to look it up, thanks for the recommendation!
I'd get a Ford GT or an Type E just to look at it all day. Stick it in my living room as a conversation starter.
What's with all the hate amongst the analyst 1s? I have plenty of colleagues with flashy cars and they buy for 2 reasons. One, because it's well within their means and two because they like the car. I have a 911 targo now but have my eye on a 570s.
how much $ do u make to be able to buy a targa? assuming it wasn't an out of reach purchase
Doesn't say what year, you can get older Porches pretty cheap (relatively speaking, of course), and they'll still be great cars to drive if kept up properly.
In no order:
Porsche 959
Ferrari F40 (Black ideally)
Late 60's Mustang Shelby GT500
1969 Corvette C3 L88
1985 Toyota SR5 (Marty's truck in BTTF)
1995 Nissan Nismo Skyline GTR
Custom-built Singer Porsche SC
I could keep going but I'm making myself sad thinking about the $ here and how I'll never drive any of these beauties outside of Forza
dont think like that man. If you really want to do it you can put your mind on anything. Just take the first step. Look at Gary Vee. He started from nothing and made 300 million. Anything is possible.
Gary Vee did not start from nothing.
You’re a clown for following Gary Vee especially thinking he started from nothing
I just want an Aston Martin as my daily drive. I suppose I could say the Superleggera or Valkyrie or Valhalla or Speedster as an Aston Martin "supercar", but really I just want a more subtle daily drive Aston Martin.
Also not your target but I'm a truck guy and love the Bentley Bentayga Speed - Midnight blue exterior w/ red interior
When my stepdad was a rich real estate finance guy he had an Jaguar E-type.
My Uncle is the CIO of a SM HF that is roughly $12bn AUM. He's been CIO for quite some time. He drives an audi and makes fun of people who are obsessed with supercars. Still, he lives in a mansion with two tennis courts. So, to each their own lol.
Ferrari twin turbo in a Mustang - sickkkk

I’m a division manager and I DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!!!
Stratus Symbol
Not here to comment because of the context of the post, BUT I will say that the 812 SF you mention in your post is totally purchasable for half that price. The MSRP is 335k I believe. After you spec it out should come to high 3s, low 4s; meaning your payment will be around the 3k mark. Cars in the 250 range like the Urus have monthly payments in the 2.1-2.4 range IIRC.
A SMD brought a Merc S class coupe to an info session at my school.
