Holy shit people what the fuck is wrong with Hinge in London?
I usually use Tinder to source thots but I've grown tired of non-targets so I've tried Hinge. Why the fuck are all the girls on this app ugly as sin? Age range set to 18-25: fatties, tattooed weirdos and future cat ladies everywhere. I'm literally swiping left on everyone. The fact that they have the opportunity to expose their retarded personality doesn't help.
Is Hinge the app where the girls who can't compete on Tinder go? It's like Hinge's algorithm doesn't work based on looks or something.
The algorithm is made to make you match with similar people to you - not sure how the algorithm works but I assume that you get a score and the higher it is the more you see “desirable” people on the app.
The problem is that the people I see are definitely not similar to me in any quantifiable way
Maybe you think you are hot but the algorithm thinks you are a 3/10. I have no issues, most girls I see are 7+, educated at a good uni with a decent job...

Just from my experience, the ‘best’ girls do not use dating apps on a regular basis. They might have a dating app but rarely open it because they just get an insane amount of message on it, and then we are not even talking about all the dm’s they receive on IG.

In a perfect world the efficient dating market hypothesis would play out and you would find your equal.
The issue is that the market is no longer efficient, dating apps like tinder & hinge have created a situation where the supply of eligible men greatly exceeds the supply of attractive women and continues to grow. Dudes continue to swipe right on 99% of girls across the spectrum, whilst girls grow more and more selective and gain false confidence, simps continue to simp and the more they fail the more they target less attractive women.

Bars and clubs in my area never fully recovered from COVID. The girls there are usually trashy/garbage/unclassy you name it.
Try "The League" or "Coffee Meets Bagel". It's not endless swiping, and users have to actually put some effort into it. Not so much for hooking up, but finding something potentially serious.

Honestly think social media have badly damaged the perception women have of their dating prospects. Yes, a guy who's a 9, might fuck a 6 if he's really horny and has no alternatives in that very moment. He's still not dating her. Women want only equal or better.

I don't use apps but if I really wanted to apply the same metric, then yeah:

-perfectly fit, no exceptions whatsoever. Hit the gym or you are lazy and not worth talking to.

I've actually run into this girl twice. Saw her swimming at the beach once and a fucking helicopter radioed down for landing instructions. Other time was at the gym - she stepped on the scale and it read "one at a time please." She does know her worth, though - and if she's worth her weight in gold, she could afford to stock up her fridge for a couple weeks.

Did you just create an account? When I created a new account on Hinge, the first 3 weeks were literal 0 or .5/10s and I was in Denver. I have never, ever, ever seen people as unattractive as I saw on that app as I saw one after the other. Not even being a dick, these people were uglier than anything I've even seen just walking around NYC.
It got better after about a month of swiping though, fresh accounts have low ELO rating.

I had the same impression at first, but my matches improved overnight once I uploaded high resolution photos that were buried in my Dropbox from vacations / parties. Besides looks, I'm seeing more profiles of women with jobs and degrees that match closer to mine. Not sure what the algo picked up on, but now about ~10% of girls in my feed seem great on paper instead of ~1%... Makes it much easier to use the app also since I now spend ~10 minutes on it instead of ~40.
Your profile probably just sucks. Be more clever with the prompts and put up better pictures and it should help. But probably delete your current account and start a new one

I think Hinge is incredible. Met a lot of hot women on there. I have noticed they are trying to monetize the app more. For example, they included a "super selection" where the app will show you a group of girls that you can only match with once a week, unless you buy a rose. The girls in this selection are usually stunning, which is a testament to how good the algorithm is.
I think Tinder is awful. After 2017 it became impossible to get matches. I would match with a girl 7-8 months later lol On hinge, I would match with the same girl within minutes of swiping. This has happened many times.
