If you are going the multitasking route corn would probably be a good option. Corn flakes, ethanol, corn meal, corn on the cob, corn mazes, and animal feed.

It goes well with almost every dish (a real team player, regardless of who's in it) and you can prepare it however you like - raw, bake, sauté, fry (a versatile person who can deliver under any circumstance).
