What were your favorite home cooked meals growing up?
Did your Dad cook or your Mom? Any memorable/favorite meals? I feel like food culture isn’t as much as it is outside of the US. Or any home cooked meals from grandparents?

bump - let’s hear some stories - I’m missing a good home cooked meal with the fam
Summer pasta. Stupidly simple penne or rigatoni with fresh tomatoes and maybe a bit of zucchini thrown in and plenty of fresh basil. 10X better than the long cooked Sunday gravy with the meat and sausage.
EDIT:
Dad's mom was a midcentury cook, for all the great stories about grandma shoveling coal deliveries into the furnace (did happen) she peaked at 'American chop-suey' & stuff from their garden was about the best you were going to get. (and yes, that was amazing) My Mom's Italian side was a completely different animal. Great grandma was from the Genoese countryside, and we have a great pesto recipe that makes it a cream sauce with mascarpone. We also only eat lasagne once a year, oddly on xmas.
Amazing
My Italian grandmother cooked baked macaroni & cheese once a week. It was great
Wow - sounds good
Dads pasta sauce
Alfredo?
Red meat sauce - new recipe every week
Not a meal, but my mother has always been an amazing baker. During the spring months she would buy fresh Clementines from the local school fundraiser and make Clemintine and Cranberry Scones. Never have been able to balance the tartness of fresh Clementines when I try and recreate it. I can remember coming home from school on the bus to all of the windows of the house open and the smell of scones wafting all the way down our mile long driveway. Those little f*ckers were like crack to me in grade school!
