What’s your dream job?
Like actually put money to one side, shouldn’t be a factor here.
I would love to have been a marine biologist or a farmer with a huge chunk of land. Not commercial of any type, but just enough to make it by. Living off the land and making a decent amount of money on the side to afford my stuff, travel, and invest for retirement. Just be comfortable.
Visionary tech entrepreneur
film composer. Or at least composing opening themes for TV series - like Succession or Game of Thrones type themes
MI6/CIA agent in the field
Jack Ryan fan I see
Ski patrol
Lead guitarist of a country band
-
Although, comp is very important to me so I can give my wife/kids the best life possible and a lead guitarist tends not to fit my vision
Novelist
Pretty much Toto Wolff's career in its totality.
Investment Banking Analyst at RBC
I knew I wanted to be an investment banker ever since I got a graded math test in 2nd grade and had a deep desire to fix all the mistakes marked in red by sexy Miss Kim ASAP.
JK. Dream career, probably a scientist or a detective. Someone who solves or works on mysteries either of the intellectual/theoretical variety or the more tangible kind… someone who goes out there and figures out what’s happening… someone who seeks to help humanity understand the world just a little better.
I try to find bits and pieces of that inspiration in my day job as well. I’ve also at various times wanted to be a pilot and a film writer as a kid.
Basically what I do now but less of it, I think the ideal amount of work is 15 hours a week, allowing plenty of time for multiple workouts a day, reading, writing, and just taking life slow
That's awesome. I guess 3hrs of work a day would be awesome, give you time to do a lot of stuff outside of it. As an investor, if I ran a nice 10-12 stock PA I don't think I'd need to spend more than 3-5hrs a day of dedicated work either
How long before you think you'll be able to get to a point to where you're working 30hrs per week?
Probably not til my 50's/60's
I would like to just write essays on stuff I find interesting, and travel around admiring the beauty of nature
Poker
You'll be in the world championship soon enough Isaiah, I’ve seen those tiktoks
haha thanks bro
Chef
As a kid I always wanted to be an adventurer and explore new parts of the world and find treasures and world beauty. Unfortunately, I’m a few years late to hop on that trend. The modern equivalent in a weird way is thrifting and searching for value through things that are worthless. Sorta like that show American pickers or something, but not the same.
Ocean and Space is largely undiscovered.
Isn’t most of the Amazon and Africa’s rainforest also unexplored? At least by modern society. Could go find some old temples deep in the jungles like Indiana Jones.
F1 driver. Fast cars, hot woman, T1 cities.
have you seen how long the new F1 cars are versus the old ones? really interesting.
Writer, screenplays ideally but with some say in the editing/creative vision of the final product
Running a 1980s era mutual fund. No one has any clue how to measure performance, your fees are absurdly high, and an information advantage is paying some kid to go to the library first thing in the morning
Doing literally anything in the market in the 80s
Rocket company, space company, basically anything that will contribute to the progress of humanity.
