When patrick bateman said to a girl: "I work in murders and executions", what did he mean?
Was it in-line with the rest of the movie, building on his sociopathic and psychotic tendencies that gets misheard etc etc you know,
or
Was it a play on words that rhymes with acquisitions (like mergers and inquisitions, the site), with the added benefit of M&A being known to have "suicidal hours" and a toxic culture, further making "murders & executions" rhyme in both a literal and poetic sense?
Jesus christ this is some low quality shit.
You're genuinely daft.
I think the real question in the movie is if he actually murdered anyone or if it was all in his mind.
No, my questions is far more useful and intellectually provocative
The deeper meaning of the film/this scene is that everyone sees Patrick as a normal person, identical to his peers. He openly says he is a murderer several times but no one even notices because they are too self absorbed and driven by consumerism. Also it sounds similar to M&A
