Who is Ed Pouzar and why is he connected to a bajillion finance people

There's a LinkedIn profile of a guy named Ed Pouzar that recently connected with me. I look at his profile, and he's connected to like 100 people I know. I'm at HYP & incoming FT at a BB, and this dude is connected to an absurd amount of my classmates & people I met through networking. I know it says he's some retired ex-Deloitte guy, but WHY is he connected to so many people early on in their banking/finance careers??

He probably interviewed a bunch of them?

Not at all... none of these people even considered Deloitte (the ones I know well, which is ~15 minimum) and neither did I

But didn't they accept his LinkedIn request?
