It is genuinely baffling to me. I don’t think I know a single guy who believes in astrology yet a truly crazy amount of girls do. The thing is some of those are genuinely rational and intelligent human beings, so I can’t understand why they believe in it and more so why is it a girl thing.

I think it's herd mentality. When that astrology/tarot/angel number shit starts making the rounds on IG, I just assume it was the topic on a recent episode of the Kardashians (I don't watch the show) and it spread from there.

No. When its on TikTok or IG, it has already been birthed. The social media is just where it spreads fastest. I'm pretty sure some of these trends are coming from reality shows or the morons with influence like Kardashians.

It's biology, women are due to their volatile emotional nature more prone to "feeling" things and being superstitious. That is not necessarily bad, some of the greatest mystics of all time (e.g. Hildegard of Bingen) were women, but nowadays there is no outlet for their desire to "feel fate", and thus they embarrass themselves on Tik Tok.
I guess it's not about gender but about finding what speaks to you. Just like some guys dig sports stats, and some girls vibe with star signs.
