Why most bank logos are Blue?
I just realized that almost all investment banks have BLUE as their corporate/logo color.
Among BBs, blue is the color for: GS, MS, JPM, BAML, Barclays, CS, Citi, DB (and even RBC).
Smilarly, among EB: Evercore, PJT, PWP, Centerview, Rothschild, Qatalyst, ...
Any conspiracy theories? Please be witty
Because they all hardcode everything.
Metaphorical blue balls
I imagine before color printing was widely available, everyone just used black.
blue is safe and corporate
Have you SEEEN the state of the Financial Sector lately? You´d be fucking blue, too, mate.
Because banks like copying each other
Notice how all the internships for COVID were virtual and 4-5 weeks?
Agree on banks following the same template but the whole point of virtual internships is to retain talent so they don’t jump to other banks
maybe my bank is the odd one out but mine is online but the full 10 weeks weird
which begs the question: why the heck didn't more banks give out auto FT??? and yes I know the answer is that general consensus is still to assess talent before giving out offers plus headcount and whatnot, but it just sucks lmao
sigh....
It's probably better not to. Banks aren't entitled to keep you on the full analyst stint. If you don't get a return you can at least recruit for FT. If you get cut 3 months in, its way harder to lateral.
Side note: Citi pulled auto FT after other banks didn't follow through
I wonder why Greenhill logo is not blue!
Blue is one of the best colors to contrast off of others
green - too obvious, shows our greed red - gross, bad vibes, last thing I want to see in a firm that holds my money is red yellow - you run a bank not a fucking summer camp, don't do it orange - aside from the M&M jars at JPMorgan, just no. one of my favorite colors (go birds!) but not good for business. purple - lol guggenheim, just no brown - no one but jpmorgan can pull this off, and even that's arguable white - not diverse enough black - too boring (sorry steve, but you have a flip phone)
slightly disagree with the black. firms can definitely pull this off that have a certain distinction - eg Blackstone
Which is why I said sorry steve.
ay first time I've seen another orioles fan on here, great to see
we're a sad bunch, but hey! we won't lose 100 games this year!
The Apollo green is pretty sexy, the greed point is rather on the nose too
greenhill too
Green - Counter example : TD Ameritrade Red: What do you think about the Bank of America logo (retail banking)? It's virtually red but doesn't seem bad at all. Also what about Soc Gen/Wells Fargo? Yellow: No banks come to mind immediately but other companies (Walmart, McDonald's etc do incorporate Yellow so it's not just summer camps White: Not even possible. There would have to be at least one other color which in that case the logo would be referred to as that color not white Other colors : You basically say "lol it's boring, it's sucks." Not a useful or good argument
holy canoli, I was being silly. lighten up francis, it's a party.
Commerzbank uses yellow
Ardea Partners is an up and coming solid boutique with a yellow logo
WSO copied this to IG with zero attribution - I know it's not a big deal but damn if they're blatant about farming content on here for sponsorship deals.
I want to be clear, I don't want to mince words, I want there to be no chance of misunderstanding.
I don't give a fuck.
have a nice day sir :)
Black - Zaoui & Co? They seem to pull it off well. The "Partners" in Arma Partners looks kinda lilac
Blue is perceived as a more inviting color. Facebook, twitter, etc all have it for a reason.
just to add, FB was blue because Zuck is partially colorblind - man can't see red
the BIG BANKS are a LIBERAL FRONT for the DEMOCRAT PARTY
HSBC and WELLS FARGO are the banks for TRUE REPUBLICANS
Should be noted Bank of America's logo color is read while the securities division has a completely blue logo Ipreviously BAML)
Red is more famously a color for socialists and commies. What have you got to say for that hahaha
Blue is also the theme for McKinsey, Yale, Oxford, Columbia, Duke, Johns Hopkins, UC Berkeley, U Melbourne, and U Toronto, just top of my head.
All UC’s are blue, just FYI
Because $100 bills are blue
What about Gold logos?
Newmont is probably an exception, but it's mainly gold. AngloGold has black and a pretty dope lion, but if you look at Newcrest / Northern Star / Barrick / Kinross / Goldfields, they all have gold in them.
What about banking companies with Gold in their logos like RBC?
isn’t blue like the favorite color for like 70% of the population?
BLUEFACE BABBYYY AIGHTTT
ok jogger
While we're on the subject of bank aesthetics why do all EB websites look like HTML project straight out of the 90s. Fukin Moelis's curly text shit gives me an aneurism and I can count the pixels on cvp's images with one hand
https://www.moelis.com/offices/
The curve of the ampersand on the top is extremely odd. Tbh they might have analysts build the website at 3 AM lol. Who knows.
Evercore's and Lazard's logos have basically the same font too, as well as a few other firms
