Why So Many Girls Catfish on Dating Apps?

Sorry about another dating thread, but I just can't understand why so many girls only post pics when they were young and still fit on dating apps (and they have gained like ~80 pounds since college or Covid). Do they just expect their date is blind when they show up?

On a related note, girls argue guys fake about their height all the time. I haven't done it but does it benefit me in anyway to say I am 6'3 or 6'4? I feel like many girls would just say I'd like a 6'4 bf but in reality they have no idea how tall that is so I might be able to pass.

Dad mode activated: You answered your own question. Posting old pics of better times is what girls do. A woman with maturity won't (usually).

I wouldn't lie about height. I wouldn't even list it if it's going to make you ask questions like that in the first place. If they make it a question in their opening conversation, they just told you plenty about themselves.

If you gotta put it on there, well sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. Still don't lie about it though and make yourself no better than the catfishers out there.

I don't think our strategies are that different, but all in all I think it surprises me if you have never been catfish for at least once (Its a common theme, not just me). I would agree more if you only go for the hottest girls as a 5 could easily edit their pics to make them look like 7 or 8 and in which case I'd lose all interests having sex with her.

Asking for a matching pic is a good idea but I've also seen how good those girls are at photo editing (shocking, I know).

If you are a top tier guy you get so many matches that you don't really see or need to match with Catfishes.

Guys like me need to shoot thier shot with women that are a bit lower quality and could be bots.
