Will Elon Musk buy Reddit?

Sounds a bit crazy at first, but then again was the idea of him buying Twitter. Here's the rationale:

1. Reddit is a premier internet forum (alongside Discord too I suppose) with tremendously valuable training data for xAI. Making it exclusive to xAI could put him far ahead of peers in a time where the various LLMs are in a tight race with one another

2. Reddit is the ultra left wing forum on the internet (this is where Discord differs so it makes less sense), Elon wants to make the internet open to all voices so it fits on political rationale terms

3. Trump is coming into office. If he buys and combines it with Twitter, Trump's justice department won't sue and will let the merger pass. The power / momentum politically is on Elon's side right now

4. Elon is much richer today than he's ever been given the Trump bump which was magnified on anything he's done

5. Elon will become richer given Trump will take the regulatory heat off Elon's companies and may even potentially given him favorable treatment (SpaceX, Tesla, etc)

What do you all think?

Funniest

Lmaooo I wouldn't be surprised if Elon was licking his chops waiting for Trump to go into office so that he could make a run at Reddit

Would be hilarious to watch the ultra libs on Reddit cry and moan about it

Controversial

Libs are in for a rough couple decades given the global push towards conservatism & populism. It will last far beyond Trump, just as progressivism had 4-5 decades the pendulum will swing the other way for at least a few decades.

It's gonna be a great time watching these kiddos seethe and moan as they try their hardest to cope. Can't wait to see the takes from these guys in the coming years, we have a few on the forum to keep us entertained (CRE, financeabs, Ozy)

That's what happens when one side supports families and has kids vs the other demonizes both and supports mass migration of the 3rd world.

Trump and conservatism better deliver promised results. Otherwise Dems will be back in charge as early as January 2026 when midterms elections give us a new Congress.

My guess is, Trump will flame out. Everything he campaigned on was just stuff he said in order to beat Harris.
