Anybody heard anything back/ know about Capital One's FA Rotation Program
I'm at my wits end here, and thought if there was any job I was gonna get, it was gonna be this one. I rocked the test they gave online, and fit all the qualifications they need. Anybody heard from them?
just got dinged. it turns out that in order to be a bank teller, i needed to know how to add. wtf?
How did you find out you got dinged? Or is this just a complete joke post?
I have a friend who is also currently doing his masters in financial engineering working at capital one in some kind of analyst/quant job. seems pretty legit.
I have a friend who works at Capital One as a Business Analyst. He said their goal is to pay their employees like the MBB consulting firms in order to attract top talent. I believe his starting salary was 65k out of undergrad, that doesn't include his bonus.
Nice, well I have an interview with them on Monday, just found out today, any ideas on what to expect?
The only information I have is for the Business Analyst position.
From what I have been told it is a mix of fit and cases. In the first round they will give you one or two short cases and have you work through them (they try to keep them pertinent to their line of work). Of course expect the typical "why this job" "why this company" questions.
Similar to consulting interviews or like PnG/Pepsi style. You will receive cases and asked all sorts of fit questions. Also I am sure your already passed the online and and in person test portion if not those will be done too.
They use the PnG approach of using psychological questions and styles to see if you fit in with their culture.
The case questions are basic size this market, what would you do in this situation, some basic calculations or so nothing major.
So I've done case studies in my Masters Program that were just taken from HBS cases, i.e. looking at a PE firms takeover of another company and valuing how much its worth, using DCFs. Those are the cases I'm familiar with, what are these type of cases you are referring to? And thanks for the input.
BA salary is 60k, but the signing bonus is fairly good, around ~15k. so i guess u can say its 65k base, its actually better...
i dont know i chose IBD over BA, I just felt like IBD path is what i want to do.
the 2nd round is more about case quesitons of capital one, such as goin through a project they work on.
Like what would be an example of a type of project they are working on? Like giving a loan to a major corporation and how they would amortize the loan?
I was called yesterday and was told that I passed the online SHL examinations (I took them approx 4 weeks ago). The next step is a series of interviews.
Yeah they're flying me up for the final round in February too. Good luck
I haven't been able to get the recruiter on the phone yet, but did they give you a choice of dates or was there one specific date when they will bring in all the candidates?
There's one superday
