2024 Associate Off Cycle?
How many 2024 associate roles are still available? I’ve heard a range of answers but my close colleagues seem to think there’s plenty of high quality / MF opportunities that still have plenty of seats, especially since on cycle was so early. However it’s been 10 months since on cycle kicked off… Any firms still recruiting for large cap PE/growth? Or will firms cut back their 2024 classes because of the slower market?
Firm dependent: I get emails in waves every month from shops, very few MFs although I know they are looking, from friends and HH forms. Lots of MMs out there still looking and I get dozens of those a month but given 25 cycle is close it might be worth waiting if you want MF/UMM
I probably have to do another year of banking if I do that right?

No, you’re not screwed. HHs will continue to recruit for 2024 start even after 2025 kickoff. If you choose to recruit for 2025 opps you will likely need to do another year of banking so timing syncs up
Just heard practically all firms have seats. So sounds like there’a plenty of high quality opportunities.

I head from a reputable HH that practically all 2024 MF / UMM seats are filled. Mentioned they’ll pick up again post Labor Day maybe. Really popped my bubble…
