2027 Private Equity Associate Comp
For those that have received offers, I’m curious how much base + bonus is being offered. Understanding comp isn’t the most important thing, any insight would be greatly appreciated!

MF - 175 base, 400 total cash comp for 1Y
APO / WP?
is the 400 quoted as a 175+225? or "up to 225" for the bonus. Not sure if firms say the up to just for legal reasons or if bonus could actually be lower?
MF PE - $140k base, unclear on bonus?
MF PE - $140k base, ~$190k bonus (didn’t specify)
Was it framed like up to 190k bonus?
No that was what a first year received last year
You're getting scammed
Kind of crazy that these MFs are generally paying under or about $150K in base. Figured it would've gone up to $175K street wide by now.
Agreed, but kind of hard to turn down a MF haha
If you landed offers during this cycle will zelle you 10 bucks to debrief to me lol dm
Bump
MF 150 base / target bonus 175
These MF's were paying for the c/o 2024 for the most part, industry is truly in a hard place. Excited to be a senior associate at my firm, but not sure I'd join PE today without doing a lot of due dilligence as to exact strenghth of platform even if UMM/MF (even MF's have terrible performance and accordingly fundraising).
MF PE: 150k base (plus 30k of training / relocation bonuses), no mention of target bonus
surprising data given majority of top MFs/UMMs are already paying 325-350 for current asso
MM PE 140 Base / 140 Bonus / 20 sign on, 300k total
MF-PE - $170k Base, $340k Total Comp + Co-Invest for 1Y
Is co invest really a differentiation point? Feel like they all would offer it. It’s a benefit to the fund and just aligns incentives better.
The differentiation is that they offer 1x leverage to associates on the co-invest
Seems like all MF numbers here, so just to offer MM numbers. ~5bn fund size non-NYC/SF/BOS: ~150k base and same target bonus with a 20k signing/relocation bonus.
Congrats on linden!
Large cap PE. 210 base + 160 bonus
public MF or pure-play PE? very high base
prob private + pure play
Sounds like Brookfield
Yes, pure play private PE
MFPE - A2: 200k base, 250k bonus
I think we raised our first year associate comp to 175k / 100% bonus floor
public or private MF? very solid numbers
Is this CD&R or H&F?
CD&R ASO1 even higher think 400k+
300k + coinvest
how does coinvest work? levered? and how much?
300k for MM fund NYC?
300 seems market for MMPE in NYC
