Altamont Capital
Any insights on Altamont Capital (reputation, lifestyle, etc.)? Have heard good things about the firm but nothing concrete or recent. What is the recruitment process like for associates? Any insight is much appreciated.
They have a pretty impressive portfolio, like all valley pe/vc seems like going to Stanford is a big leg up

They like their cool non ivy league target schools. They recruited at mine and schools like notre dame/Mich/Duke. Bain Capital's CEO Steve Pagliuca's son works there. There is also a former Harvard football player that is there who had a very unusual path to the job. From my experience with them, they're not looking for the cold blooded finance folks, but rather intellectual firepower.
