am i able to tell HH i want vc + corp dev?

so i know when you are talking to HH you need to be really specific and targeted and show them you know exactly what you want.

my #1 is vc but i know market is bad rn and is tough to break into VC so i am willing to accept any corp dev / strategy job i can get aswell. how do i communicate this with HHs?

Do not take this as gospel but vc/cd is a much harder thing to pitch to headhunters than something like cd/pe. vc has a lot more distinctions in comparison to cd than something like pe and cd.

I am sure there is a way to spin it (ie - you are interested in clean energy and you want to be more hands on with the businesses than what pe provides) but I can’t really thing of any “strong” explanations that doesn’t get real specific

From your other thread it looks like you are trying to get out of banking ASAP... I would prioritize corp dev. You can tell HHs "Primarily targeting corp dev, but would be interested in the right opportunity to do VC as well"

VC is going to be a tough sell and will probably take you at least 6 months to land, there are just no roles out there. It's competitive even in a good market and hiring is down to basically nil in the current environment
