Ares PE (ACOF) in 2025
Looking for thoughts on Ares Corporate Opportunities fund in 2025. Fund performance seems to be relatively poor and resulted in multiple down funds:
Fund V (2017): $7.85bn, 6% IRR
Fund VI (2020): $5.74bn, 16% IRR
Fund VII is in market with $2.8bn raised.
Analyst/associate exits seem to be to LMM funds as well.
Ok prospect in IB
what were some of the exits to lmm? just curious
Lmao they laid off a bunch of people a year or so ago and then everyone including a couple of partners and principals left right afterward. They’re over and anyone saying otherwise is lying to themselves
The $2.8bn is mostly internal vs 3rd party capital.
Wow what happened? Thought Ares would be the last firm to have this issue
what does the future of the ACOF franchise look like...
