Ares PE VP Case Study
Hello all,
Current MBA student here with an upcoming case study at Ares PE for a VP role. I've been told 1 hour for a case study and 30 minutes to review with a team member. No other detail was provided. Anyone have experience with what to expect, how to prepare etc?
About me: M7 MBA (Columbia/MIT/Booth) did 2 years IB, 4 years at a L/S HF covering tech now looking to get into PE. Interviewed for PE back in banking days but has been a while since then obviously.
Any and all help appreciated! Thanks in advance
Interviewed with Ares, it was a pretty simple LBO analysis w/ a real life CIM (though a pretty simple one). Debrief was fairly typical, walked through assessment of the deal, risks/considerations, points to address in diligence, how you'd research the market. This was a few years ago, may have changed since then.
Thanks for the reply. This was for VP or for post-IB associate?
latter
Why the move from L/S covering tech to PE?
My own personal investment horizon is 2-3 years, and I clashed with my PM on a daily basis. Just became clear it wasn't my cup of tea. Love tech, love investing, didn't love L/S.
