Associate Director Title - Confusion?
I work at a EU fund with a slightly different title progression compared to US funds. Progression goes associate -> senior associate -> associate director -> director -> principal -> partner. ASO/SrASO/AD are all 2 year positions.
I'm up for associate director promotion next year (ignore WSO title) but am thinking about lateraling for a number of reasons. Would it make sense to put my title as Associate Director (Vice President) on my resume, or will recruiters/investors know what the associate director title means? I am just slightly worried because some larger EU banks like UBS call their associates associate directors (not VPs) and I don't want there to be any confusion about my role. I will have full VP responsibilities (i.e., there is no director staffed on the deal team with me).
I am targeting US funds FWIW. I am based in NYC.
