One of the head hunters contacted me for a BD associate opportunity in a small regional PE shop. I have background in technology and management consulting and also have an MBA. I actually have never seriously thought of working in PE before since I am focused in management consulting. This role will be doing BD for 2-3 years and depending on the opportunity at that time, may transition to transactions associate role who will be working with partners to evaluate the potential deal. As FYI, I am at 101 level when it comes to PE.
Can you please advise on how is a BD associate opportunity seen? I have to decide by tomorrow whether I want to proceed or not. So far on my search, I have found 1 thread on PE BD but wanted to know your thoughts on this specific opportunity.
