Benefit of connecting with an associate before resume screen at a firm that is hiring off cycle but is typically on cycle?
On-cycle firm is hiring now. I have a mutual connect with an associate. Wondering if it will help to get in touch to get my resume lifted to get a first round interview. Not sure if an associate has any pull. His tenure is less than a year... Don't want to waste his time if not. What do you think?
You already wasted all of our time with this stupid thread, so why not waste your associate's time also?
I'm wondering if PE associates are decision makers when it comes to screening resumes sent by headhunters.
I know at consulting firms, people as junior as first year analysts screen resumes, but I don't know who screens resume batches at PE firms. Thanks.
Usually there is a VP level person in charge of the hiring process, at least at the larger funds. Generally they are the ones that take the lead on screening resumes.
