Blackstone PE London Hierarchy

Hi,
Does anyone have knowledge of the progression at Blackstone PE, London?
I have seen people with 2/3yrs experience at a top bank join Blackstone as an analyst (the same as people who join straight out of undergraduate), why do these people with significant experience not join as associate?

Thanks

For the 1st analyst/6 month internship? Prob just paper LBO and some quick IRR calculation. A lot of brainteasers, and high-level ideas about where to invest in Europe. Basically everything you will encounter in an IBD interview + LBO stuff + brain teasers. Pay some attention to BX past deals, as they may ask you which investment you like the most about them.
