BMO Private Equity - Yikes

A buddy of mine up in Toronto recently interviewed with them for a VP job. He told me it was a really weird and disorganized experience and they provided him with an offer which was pretty insulting (he rejected).

He has 8 years work experience, half in IB and half as a Director at a PE shop. They wanted 8+ years experience for this VP role and didn't really have any answer as to how they're going to grow AUM beyond the weird publicly listed vehicle they have that does secondaries and eccentric euro primaries.

He is currently earning around CAD 500/year pre-carry (base of 300 and STIP of 200-300) and this was what they offered him, fully knowing what he was earning before (note: they reached out to him for an interview)...

Base of CAD 125-150, bonus of CAD 100/year. No carry.

Lol avoid this group.
