Can I be a growth associate
I am a first year PE analyst at a MM Industrials firm with a latest fund size of $3B. I have realized I want to move into growth. Is this move feasible? My main concerns is the deals I have worked on are very very not growth orientated and a slowing growth market. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
Growth is the sexy place to be lately, so lots of demand for very few spots. I would certainly keep an eye out for growth opportunities, likely at smaller funds or filling a one-off spot (lateral analyst mid-year, 1st year ASO mid-year) rather than a "clean" ASO1 start which will be in high demand.
Would also consider lateraling to a place in the buyout market that's closer to growth - MM tech or consumer for example.
