Canadian Moving to U.S. for PE/Private Credit — Anyone Done This Recently (TN/visa sponsored)?

Hey all,

Curious to hear from any fellow Canadians who have successfully made the move to the U.S. to work in private equity or private credit — especially those who were either sponsored by their firms or went down the TN visa route.

Is this pathway legitimately more difficult now than it was a few years ago, especially given the current political climate and shifting immigration policies? Or is it still relatively doable with the right firm and visa setup?

Would also really appreciate any intel on which legal offices or immigration law firms people have consulted with to navigate the process effectively. Trying to figure out the best way to approach this before engaging potential U.S. firms.

Thanks in advance for any insights.
