CC Capital

Anyone have insight into CC Capital? They partnered with Neuberger Berman on a SPAC that merged with Getty Images for $4.8bn. Supposedly they’re raising outside capital for their first fund and expanding their headcount. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Many of their early deals were through the SPAC strategy as you mentioned (Getty, Utz, E2Open) but I heard they are planning to raise a standard fund this year. The Bradstreet buyout they did was only private capital so I imagine they did a mini fund raise to get that deal done which likely required at least $1bn+ of equity. Impressive they did it quick and quiet -- clearly had some relationships they could leverage to get that deal done without an evergreen fund to backstop it.

Top notch management team with Chu being one of the people credited with building Blackstone's PE dominance. Think it should definitely be considered a shop to keep an eye on; wouldn't be surprised to see them continue to poach top talent and be big players in a few years.

Had some exposure to CC Capital way back in my IBD M&A days when they were quietly raising a SPAC for D&B deal. My MD visited the office and told me how baller it was. They had their own chef in the Met Life building and views were phenomenal. Would have loved to work there. Kind of a family office vibe. Super solid group and definitely an underrated/stealth firm to keep a look out for. Chu’s PE legacy with Blackstone says it all.
