Court Square in 2026
Looks like their recruiting process is soon to kick off for all verticals. Older threads say sweaty, old school culture but good brand.
Any more recent insights to culture / exits / compensation / fund performance would be great.
How do they compare against THL AEA Providence Harvest Am Sec GI TowerBrook and the like?
Not entirely sure on all of the aforementioned but pretty sure AEA, Amsec, and GI are all struggling with performance and/or fundraising (4-5+ years of fundraising for a handful of them). Would assume most of these guys are in a similar boat.

Are they still alive? Thought they are a death's doors. Have they even raised recently?
Idk but one of my friends that worked they really disliked it when he was an associate
Is it just usual grindy culture or amplified by the fact that the fund is going downhill? What are hours like? 80+?
Downhill slowly dying JAMMBO
Dying fund, won’t be around in 5 years. Bottom of the barrel
How does it compare to GI AEA Providence THL who have all had challenges? How would you rank those and is it worth doing a 2 year program?
Those are larger than Court Square is presently, so higher bases from which they started their decline. THL is probably the best positioned given they have already raised nearly 5bn for their latest fund, even if their fund before that is bottom quartile. GI and AEA have struggling to raise for a while, and think Providence halved in fund size for their latest one.
Lots of funds in the lower UMM range of 4-6bn fund size is struggling, espeically the legacy ones. The number of funds in that range doing well is probably lower than the number who are struggling to raise.
Their fundraise is going well and portfolio is solid. Culture is highly team dependent but that’s typical. Look to the Forbes article from a few days ago for firms actually at death’s door…
How big of a fund are they targeting and when do they expect to close? Haven’t raised in 5+ years it seems like
They kicked off Fund V in late 2023 it looks like... and maybe they just wrapped up at target? ~2 year fundraise for a longtime fund is quite bad...
Yeah and their last raise was 2017 which is not promising. Good funds are raising every three years or so
Anyone hear back after R1?
Haven’t heard back yet. When did you do your R1?

You kids love the JAMMBO circus
