A few years ago TB, Vista and SL were neck and neck in terms of performance, fundraising, and reputation, but it definitely feels like TB has separated itself from the pack as the clear front runner in tech investing in the past couple years
Unless you're top bucket from GS TMT/MS Menlo it's highly doubtful you even have the option to choose between these two. Thoma lights out wins for software + you have the bonus of potentially being in the Miami office (lower COL, taxes, but comp is the same). SL you'll have a much wider variety of deals you look at and it has more of a white-shoe reputation, which extends to the culture also being a bit stuffier.
Worth waiting for off cycle to recruit for TB Vista SLO if goal is software / tech investing? Any tech names go on cycle even remotely close to these 3?
I'm not the one to ask about cycles man I didn't even do banking and work in MM. Totally up to you. I would not say anyone else comes close to those 3 in software.
