It seems to me like it’s a bit late to keep the current offer live and start create new alternatives. You probably could have communicated with hh or firms that you were interviewing with this firm as a way to get more processes started. Then to try and manage the timing of the offers the best you can do you can choose.
Can I still leverage it even after I have accepted the offer? It’s a big next step in my career so I’m willing to renege here.
Yes, you can post accepting the offer but not starting. As you can imagine the original hiring firm will be pretty annoyed but still better for them than you starting and leaving shortly aftewards.
