Folks at Digital Colony are smart investors; however, my personal bias is that Colony Capital is a firm in decline after screw-ups in a number of their recent funds. DC already did its first deal - a take private of a fiber company named Zayo. Since zayo is public, there's a lot of info. out there on the deal, which should give you a sense of how DC invests.

They're top notch telecom/internet infra investing. neil91 pretty much said all there is to say, you can look at the team and they all have strong backgrounds for their niche. Will be interesting to see how they perform with such a massive first fund.
