Dinner Interview - PE/HF

Ignore title. Have gone through ~15 interviews with a large cap investment firm (i.e., including case study, meeting senior people, etc.) for a lateral role. Now have a ~2 hour dinner scheduled with mid/senior people (think Principal / MD). Are these kind of interviews generally more of a final round or how should I think about this? Anything to look out for with this format?

Had a similar process and team meal (though lunch v. dinner) at the end. It was the final round for the overall process. In general it was more relaxed / conversational than a regular interview, but this is still an interview. There were more fit / behavioral types of questions (asking more about interests outside of work, etc.) and then questions about what I was looking for in the role / why that felt like the right fit for me, etc. You've passed the bar on all the technical stuff at this point, this is basically one last datapoint on fit . FWIW, I didn't end up getting the offer (think it was down to me and one other candidate who did) so don't assume you're in the clear yet - in my situation the other candidate just had slightly more relevant experience for a semi-niche vertical that was covered by the team
