Do Latin honors matter for recruiting for 2nd & 3rd jobs?

Hey all, I'm currently at a target/semi-target school and have a solid job lined up at a newer MM/UMM fund out of school. With a month and half left my GPA is right on the cusp of the magna cum laude / cum laude cutoff. Is it worth spending a decent amount of time and effort to get the magna distinction or can I just enjoy the rest of my senior year and not stress about it too much? I'm likely going to spend at least two years at my job, but curious is anyone knows how much PE firms consider the distinctions when interviewing candidates for associate positions.

FWIW, most people keep latin honors on their website bios well into their 30s or 40s. Does anyone sit there and notice the guy who doesn't have it - of course not - but it doesn't just float off into the ether

That said I think magna vs cum laude is a very small difference and not something to fret over whether people will judge you for it. I would probably hustle just because it would annoy me to be that close, but no one in PE is going to ding a resume that only says cum laude (assuming your GPA is still like 3.7+ and you're at a school that does latin by %)

If it’s a bad school, then I feel like it’s a bad look if you’re not magne.

Idk if it’s just me, but I always laugh when I see people from college (non-target, not known for its academics) posting that they graduated cum laude. Like bruh, who you bragging to.

But tbh who cares about graduating magne cum laude from a bad school either.
