Due Diligence done on New Hires

Was wondering if anyone knows how in depth companies going these days into reviewing new graduates background? Specifically does anyone know what the DD is like on new grad hires at PwC and Duff & Phelps? Do they check your official transcripts, find out when you got your degree, contact the school and ask these questions or make new hires sign documents that allow them to go into your educational background? I know grades are confidential and schools can't release them to companies.. wanted to know if the companies make new hires submit official transcripts etc.?

yes they do all of those things. I dont know what it is but i feel lately ive seen like 10 of these threads pop up. Just think about it, these banks are about to pay a 20 year old who knows nothing an ass load of money, so yes they will do their due diligence. And as long as you have not lied about anything you have nothing to worry about, if you have been lying well then i hope your ass gets busted and exiled from the industry.

and to add, your grades are not confidential once you accept a job offer. it will say in the contract that they can pretty much get any information on you they want. so I highly recommend you dont try to bullshit anyone.

What do you mean grades are confidential? Most employers, especially large firms, will ask for an unofficial transcript soon after you sign an offer and then they will ask for your certified transcript with degree conferred after you graduate (to ensure you did, in fact, graduate)...both will have your grades on them.
