Economics degree, how to break into private equity?

Hi y'all! I am currently an Economics student (M.Sc.) and I'd like to turn into PE. I have not a deep knowledge in finance, since my degree is more focused on economics in general, but I am challenged to work in PE. What to do you suggest me to do, in order to increase the probability of being hired? Do you think I have any chance, even if I come from Economics? Thnx in advance!

Learn finance, learn PE and figure out how to hustle a position through the back door. It's absolutely possible.
