Established Emerging Market Groups in Private Equity

Hi,

I have tried doing some research into private equity funds with established emerging market groups. Looking through firms like TPG, I see that they have an Asia focused fund. Similarly, Apollo has a fund dedicated to India. Although I have been able to learn a bit more about these funds by looking online, I was wondering if anyone had any insights they could share for emerging market groups in private equity.

Specifically, I was wondering:

Which funds offer investments in emerging markets?
How large are funds solely dedicated to emerging markets? Why are mega funds adverse to investing in emerging markets?

I understand that many investments in emerging markets under perform due to less developed capital markets and higher investment risk, but I think the future of returns lies in countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Brazil, and other developing countries with large middle class consumers.

Any thoughts and feedback would be helpful.

Thanks!
