Evaluating Lower Mid Market PE opportunity

Hi everybody,

I may have an opportunity for a position with a small private equity firm. Here are some details about their investment criteria:

AUM: approx $100m. Just raised their first fund - small number of partners (2-4). Similar high profile people on the board. Looking to raise $150-200 in 18 months and $500 within 5 years Currently no juniors in the business. Strategy: Buy-and-build. Aggressive roll-up. Business EBITDA average $1m. On the smaller end.. ~4 platforms. Platforms in business services sectors exist. Are scaling existing platforms over next 12 months.

Besides these metrics, what are some other things I can search for that would help me to determine if the firm is headed in the right direction and would be a good place to hitch my wagon to. I'm also looking to hear what transferable skills i will develop here - can I can move to a mid-market shop over time?
