Exits from ER covering PE firms?
I'll be an incoming ER associate at a well-ranked BB, covering financials but it's a bit of a mixed bag. The coverage I'm responsible for working under includes some traditional banks but it is primarily just PE firms (e.g. KKR, TPG, etc). That just sounds incredibly useless to me for any future career in investing -- if I want to end up at a hedge fund, I'm just not sure that covering public PE firms is all that important. Can someone who knows anything about ER of PE companies share their thoughts?
