First time fund back to PE
I left my (well respected UMM fund) after 1 year as an associate to join a first time fund.
At the time, it seemed like a really exciting opportunity, but it’s quickly become apparent that it’s sort of a disaster. Not to mention that I took a huge pay cut to come here.
Profile: 2Y top tier banking / 1 Y UMM Asc / now 6-7 months at this new fund.
How should I position this to employers / do I have a chance of breaking back into real PE? I am confident of doing well in interviews and my resume is quite strong, just worried about perception given my short stints. Should I apply to b school?
Thanks in advance!
