First year anlayst participating on-cycle?

First year analyst who started last fall. Was not ready for on-cycle in my senior year because I did not spend time preparing. Wondering if I would be able to participate in the upcoming summer's on-cycle which would i guess technically be intended for incoming first years. I was in a process for one firm in the current off-cycle with one HH and did not make it through and realize I need more prep and better deal experience.

Expecting all these things will smooth out by this summer so just wondering if HHs are open to having people who are already full-time participating in on-cycle intended for incoming analysts. I don't expect the HH who managed my failed process will allow me, but would other HHs be receptive? Just wondering what is possible and if anybody has personally experienced / heard of stories like this before.
