From MBB consulting PE practice to PE (top, tier-2)
Hey career monkeys :)
I'm currently working on transitioning from MBB to PE. I'm new to it, and although I've seen some old topics but things might have changed over time.
Could you please help me clarify the following:

I have 4 years of experience in MBB, currently in the Associate cohort in the PE practice, with a finance background from a non-target school. Should I apply for an Associate position, or would it be more appropriate to start as an Analyst?

What are the potential opportunities after 3-5 years in PE, assuming I'm not considering owning a business?

If you have taken the same path or are currently considering it, what are your alternatives to PE or IB? Please share your thoughts.
What do you mean by PE strategy? Most PE roles are either investment team or operations team.
