Finally getting my own office in the next year. What do you do to decorate it? Obviously pictures of family, friends, etc, but do you hang up artwork on the walls? Get a plant (this office has sunlight fortunately)? What else?

I personally recommend getting a framed 8x10 photo of a printer with a caption “You Either Die a Hero, or Live Long Enough to See Yourself Jamming.” and have it lit up like a renaissance painting.

Heard about this MD who was obsessed with smurfs, had the walls painted blue and even had a jar of M&Ms that were on his desk with only blue ones (the interns would have to separate the blue ones from the other colors). He had the restraint to not put up actual smurf photos in his office but did have one of those smurf picture frames with only cutouts for heads with his and his family in it.
Definitely could throw some art up there and the obligatory signed baseball in the display case
