GP Associate 1 Comp
Hey all,
I'm looking for some feedback on what to expect for comp. I'm about to wrap up my first year and feel I've performed really well. I've closed 10+ deals, and I'm about to close the largest deal of the year as the sole junior resource. I've also taken on a lot of work outside of deal execution, like updating our model and investment memo templates and creating new SOPs (you get the idea). On top of that, our team went through a major internal restructure, and we just closed on a new programmatic venture.
For more context, our recent hires have been back-office and senior people, not analysts or juniors.
I'm currently at $125K base plus a performance bonus, and my original job posting listed the range for my role as going up to $175K. Would it be crazy to ask for that? I'm mainly looking for guidance and a sense of how people in my seat have made out.

I'd attempt to bridge to $175k over x amount of time - call it 12 to 18 months i.e a bump to $150k now then at a mid year or year end review close the gap. Asking for a 40% bump immediately is just a tough HR pill to swallow, even if you are worth it.
That makes a lot of sense. Any insight into bonuses?
whats your target percentage now?
I have zero perspective on this. Just says performance based in my contract.
