Has anyone delayed PE associate start date by a year?
Considering staying an extra year in banking after signing a PE offer - has anyone done this? Too risky?
Appreciate any thoughts.

But why?
Really like group. Believe I will be more polished when I start as an associate / ability to hit the ground running
I am gonna go with the previous poster and ask why? I can understand staying an extra year in banking if you struck out during PE recruiting, but given you already have an offer, I'm really not seeing the benefits you would gain by staying an extra year
Really like my group and am learning a lot
If you like your current work environment so much, are you sure you even want to go to PE? You’re trading something that seems good for you for a big unknown
one more year in banking will dull your brain even more. move asap. the last thing you want to start doing in PE is start "selling" a deal... now selling varies in meaning; i am not talking about "selling" to IC but rather to your VP because you been around bankers too much.
