Heidrick's annual North American PE compensation survey came out recently (link below).
Some of the numbers are mind-boggling. Crazy to think that the average Managing Partner at a $5bn fund has $100mn+ of carry dollars at work...on top of $3mn+ annual cash comp! The numbers for a Principal's carry dollars at work was surprisingly high.
Curious to hear from people in the industry - are these numbers skewed towards the upper end?
